The Ministry of Forest Economy focuses on reducing poverty, as well as on transforming the forest and wood sector into a growth sector.

As such, it sets out the following key objectives:

  • (i) to continue forest management work;
  • (ii) to increase the production of forest products;
  • (iii) to improve habitat and living conditions in rural areas;
  • (iv) to further develop alternative activities in forest concessions, and in the buffer and peripheral zones of protected areas.
